Who we are

Your Local Simcoe County Insulation Company

Spray Foam Masters is a Barrie-based insulation company helping homeowners, builders, contractors, property managers and business owners create more comfortable and energy-efficient buildings throughout Simcoe County.

We provide professional spray foam insulation, fibreglass batt insulation and fireproofing solutions for residential, commercial, renovation and new-construction projects. Whether we are insulating an attic, basement, garage, addition, custom home or commercial building, our objective remains the same: recommend the appropriate solution, prepare the work area properly and complete the installation with attention to every important detail.

Insulation is more than material placed between studs. It is part of a building's complete thermal envelope. When insulation is selected and installed properly, it can help control unwanted air movement, reduce heat loss, improve temperature consistency and lessen the workload placed on heating and cooling systems. Our team approaches every project with that larger purpose in mind.

Local knowledge

Built for Simcoe County Conditions

Based in Barrie, Spray Foam Masters serves communities throughout Simcoe County, including Barrie, Innisfil, Orillia, Midland, Alliston, Bradford, Collingwood and Wasaga Beach.

Properties across the region face substantial seasonal temperature changes. Cold winters, warm summers, wind, humidity and changing weather conditions can reveal weaknesses in a building envelope. Drafty rooms, cold floors, uneven temperatures and condensation may all be signs that insulation or air sealing should be investigated.

Different properties also present different challenges. An older Barrie home may contain insulation that no longer performs as expected. A rural property outside Midland may have difficult-to-reach cavities or additions completed at different times. A new home in Bradford may require careful coordination with other trades. A commercial project in Orillia may have scheduling, access and performance requirements that differ considerably from a residential renovation.

We examine the actual application before recommending a product. That helps prevent a one-size-fits-all approach and gives property owners a clearer understanding of what their project may require.

What we install

Three Systems, Chosen for the Assembly

A product should suit the space being insulated. These are the three we install, and the situations each one tends to suit.

One of our principal services. The material is applied directly to the intended surface, where it expands and fills irregular spaces, cracks and gaps that may be difficult to address using rigid materials alone. Depending on the product and application, it can contribute to both thermal insulation and air sealing.

Open-cell and closed-cell spray foam have different characteristics, and one should not automatically be substituted for the other. The appropriate selection depends on the assembly, location, performance objective and applicable project requirements.

Spray foam insulation →

Spray foam is not the only effective option. Fibreglass batts are commonly used in accessible wall, floor and ceiling cavities with regular framing dimensions, and may offer a cost-conscious solution for new construction, renovations, interior walls, basement framing and other straightforward applications.

Performance depends heavily on installation quality. Gaps, compression, folds and poorly fitted sections all reduce effectiveness, so careful measuring, cutting and fitting are essential.

Fire protection requirements vary according to the building, assembly, occupancy and material being protected. Certain applications may require an approved thermal barrier, ignition barrier, protective coating or another specified fire-protection system.

We can review the intended application and discuss the available protective options. Where an assembly requires engineering, product-specific documentation, permits or approval from the appropriate building authority, those requirements should be established before work begins.

Fireproofing solutions →

Spray foam should never automatically be described as fireproof

That distinction matters. Fireproofing should be based on the requirements of the specific project — not on broad marketing claims. Our goal is to help customers make informed decisions while maintaining an honest distinction between insulation performance and fire-protection requirements.

Who we work for

Homes, Businesses and Construction Sites

Residential insulation services

A well-insulated home should feel more consistent from room to room. Insulation and air-sealing improvements may help address cold floors, drafts, uncomfortable upper levels and spaces that are difficult to heat or cool.

  • Existing-home insulation upgrades
  • New homes and custom builds
  • Basement renovations
  • Attic and roofline projects
  • Garages and workshops
  • Cottages and seasonal properties
  • Additions
  • Interior renovations
  • Rim-joist insulation
  • Difficult or irregular cavities

Every home is different. Before choosing an insulation system it is important to consider where unwanted air or heat movement is occurring, how the assembly is constructed and whether moisture or ventilation concerns are present. A good insulation project starts with understanding the problem — not simply covering a surface.

Commercial and new-construction projects

We also work with builders, contractors and commercial property stakeholders across Simcoe County. New-construction and commercial work requires dependable communication, coordination and attention to project sequencing. Insulation must be installed at the correct stage and without disrupting other trades unnecessarily.

We can discuss project drawings, required areas, intended insulation types, access conditions and scheduling before installation begins. This preparation helps reduce surprises and allows the work to proceed more efficiently.

Commercial and new-construction applications may include offices, retail properties, workshops, agricultural structures, multi-unit buildings and other purpose-built spaces. The appropriate solution will depend on the construction details and project specifications.

Our approach

Six Steps, Every Project

The same sequence on a single crawl space as on a commercial building.

  1. Understand the property

We begin by learning about the space and the reason insulation is being considered. Is the project a new build, renovation or corrective upgrade? Is the concern heat loss, air leakage, comfort, condensation or a combination of issues?

  2. Review the application

The team considers the location being insulated, existing materials, accessibility and intended use of the space. This helps identify which insulation products may be appropriate.

  3. Explain the options

Customers should understand what is being recommended and why. When more than one option is available, we explain the relevant differences instead of presenting every project as though it has only one possible solution.

  4. Prepare the work area

Preparation is a critical part of professional spray application. Adjacent surfaces, windows, doors, equipment and finished areas may require masking or protection. Access and ventilation requirements should also be addressed.

  5. Complete the installation

The insulation is installed according to the agreed project scope, with attention to coverage, continuity and the details that influence performance.

  6. Review the completed work

Before the project is considered complete, the installed areas should be reviewed and the worksite left orderly.

Insulation designed around the building

Our website should never make a product sound perfect for every situation. Different materials have different strengths, limitations and installation requirements, and trust is built by explaining those differences honestly.

The best insulation decision is not necessarily the most expensive option or the product with the loudest marketing claims. It is the solution that fits the building assembly, intended use and project priorities. For one property the priority may be sealing air leakage around a rim joist. Another may need attic or roofline insulation. A renovation may involve exposed walls that can be insulated before drywall is installed. A contractor may need a reliable insulation team for an upcoming build. By looking at the complete application, we can help customers choose an approach that supports long-term comfort and building performance.

Where we work

Proudly Serving Simcoe County

Our Barrie location allows us to support projects across the region while maintaining a strong connection to the communities we serve.

We also serve other communities within Simcoe County. If you are unsure whether your property falls within our service area, contact our team and tell us where the project is located. The towns are listed in the Service Areas menu at the top of every page, and the county as a whole is mapped on the home page.

Each town has its own version of the same problem. The older housing around Orillia needs assessment rather than a package, the snow belt around Midland is unforgiving of a marginal roof, and the converted cottages at Wasaga Beach almost always start underneath the floor rather than in the walls.

If you would rather understand our thinking before booking anything, the insights section sets it out at length — why air sealing beats R-value is the idea behind most of our recommendations, and what drives the price explains what to compare across the quotes you gather.

Request an Insulation Assessment

If you are planning a new build, renovating an existing property or investigating an insulation concern, we are ready to discuss your project. Tell us about the property, the areas you want insulated and the results you hope to achieve. We can review the application, explain the available options and provide a clear next step.
